Position Summary:
We are seeking a Fleet Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, and experienced in fixed assets, with a background in the construction industry. This role involves daily communication with employees and vendors, assisting in fleet transactions, maintaining accurate account records, and protecting the company’s financial interests.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate fuel system records
Process timely fuel tax refunds
Administrating fuel system users, vehicles, and tanks
Analyzing fuel records to correct errors to support accurate preventative maintenance records
Process equipment purchases and sales following company guidelines
Record/capitalize fixed asset transactions accurately and timely
Review and post depreciation entries
Coordinate vehicle licensing and new registrations
Support annual vehicle licensing renewals
Coordinate replacement license plates and trip permits
Provide uniform support for fleet staff and manage vendor relationships
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in fleet accounting and/or general accounting
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Experience with Fleet, Fuel and ERP systems(e.g., AMCS, Link2Pump, and Microsoft Dynamics or similar platforms)
Microsoft office application experience
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines
Professional and courteous communication skills with a customer service mindset
Organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new systems and processes
Proven reliability and dependability in a fast-paced work environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of fleet maintenance and licensing
Previous experience working with Department of Licensing
