Mobile Maintenance Plant Mechanic

Compensation: $28.00 - $40.00

Job Description:

 

  • Routine steel repair and fabrication using an arc welder (stick and wire) and an oxy/acetylene cutting torch.
  • Conveyor repairs including replacement of: bearings, pulleys, idlers, gear boxes and belts.
  • Basic plumbing and pump repair.
  • Basic electrical diagnostic and repair.
  • Perform tasks at high elevations using fall protection equipment.
  • Work in tight or confined spaces.
  • Operate equipment: loader, backhoe, man-lift, forklift, etc.
  • Perform tasks with basic hand tools and operate electric and pneumatic power tools.
  • Plant lubrication in accordance with maintenance schedules and as may be necessary.
  • Perform housekeeping as required to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.
  • Maintain stock of necessary parts and have the ability to order parts and materials to ensure repairs are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

 

Job Skills and Requirements:

 

Have a working knowledge of aggregate and concrete batch plant operations and possess the mechanical ability and aptitude to troubleshoot, repair and maintain plants and equipment on a pro-active, preventative basis.

  • Maintain stock of necessary parts and have the ability to order parts and materials to ensure repairs are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Experienced and proficient at arc welding (stick and wire) and use of an oxy/acetylene cutting torch.
  • Have the ability to fabricate with steel or other various types of materials.
  • Capable of completing plumbing projects and possess a working knowledge of electrical (120, 240 & 480 volt).
  • Be able to perform tasks at high elevations using fall protection equipment.
  • Work in tight or confined spaces.
  • Wear a full face mask respirator in dusty environments.
  • Operate equipment: loader, backhoe, man-lift, forklift, etc.
  • Perform tasks with basic hand tools and operate electric and pneumatic power tools.
  • Capable of performing physical labor in any environment.
  • Ensure plants are lubricated in accordance with maintenance schedules and as may be necessary.
  • Perform housekeeping as required to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.
  • Comply with company safety rules and regulations including, but not limited to, the use of proper safety equipment at all times as may be required and be a leader and good example for others.
  • Have the flexibility to occasionally work after normal hours including some Saturday’s.

  • Proficiency/Dexterity: Have the ability to work fast and safe while performing required tasks.  Being agile, good with your hands & tools and having good hand/eye coordination is essential.
  • Stamina: Have the ability to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. and be able to stand or kneel and work in dirty and/or wet conditions for long periods of time.
  • Flexible as overtime may be required.
  • Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner.

Required Education and/or Experience;

  • Minimum education required is a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience in an industrial setting is preferred.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record.
