Recruiting Coordinator

Position Type: Full Time or Part Time
Hours: Primarily M-F, 7:30-4:00pm (at times, working hours may be earlier or later)

Job Description:

Provide recruiting support for Miles Sand & Gravel Company’s Corporate Programs.  The Recruiting Coordinator will work with and report to the Corporate Programs Manager and also with Human Resources and various departments to develop recruiting, training and retention programs.  This position will be responsible for developing relationships with trade related schools and associations and ultimately develop a pipeline of new recruits for the Company.  Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Develop, build and maintain great relationships with local trade colleges, high schools and other sources of skilled and unskilled labor.
  • Develop recruitment campaigns to attract new employees.
  • Work with various department and regional managers to develop and implement training, incentive and retention programs.
  • Manage job postings, screen candidates and assist candidates and managers during the hiring process.
  • Monitor and maintain Social Media accounts of the Company and respond appropriately, if necessary.
  • Complete reference calls and background checks for candidates.
  • Assist with coordinating and attending trade shows, job fairs, employee appreciation events and other company related events/functions as may be required. Work hours for these events/functions may be outside primary working hours noted above.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be a self-starter who is capable of completing job duties with minimal supervision.
  • Strong technology skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • The ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to promote the benefits of teamwork.
  • The ability to function in an office environment as well as the Company’s industrial environment including outdoor weather conditions.
  • Excellent driving record.

 

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a similar or related field.
  • Preference for similar experience in an industrial company.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Friendly, engaging, and out-going personality.
  • Ability to make presentations in front of groups.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience in Social Media campaigns.
  • Physically able to move freely or be stationary for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Must be willing to travel for business purposes as required.
  • Bi-lingual preferred (English/Spanish).
