Miles Sand & Gravel Company has been a trusted name in the aggregate and concrete industry for over 80 years, and we are seeking a dependable, highly motivated Sales Representative with experience in ready-mix concrete and aggregate sales to join our team in Western Washington. What You’ll Do:
• Develop and grow customer relationships while selling ready-mix concrete and aggregate products throughout the South Puget Sound region.
• Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts.
• Review, analyze, and interpret complex contract documents, bid packages, project specifications, and purchase orders/contracts; identify risk exposures and recommend revisions or negotiation strategies to management to protect the company’s interests.
• Evaluate accounts, projects, pricing strategies, and sales forecasts to ensure profitability and achievement of sales targets.
• Collaborate closely with operations, dispatch, and quality control teams to align production, delivery, and product performance with customer and specification requirements.
• Conduct regular jobsite visits to ensure service, quality, address concerns, and support safe operations.
• Analyze market conditions, industry trends, and sales data; prepare reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations for management.
• Support company marketing initiatives, including trade shows, industry events, sponsorships, and brand development efforts.
• Maintain strong internal relationships and adapt sales strategies to align with overall company objectives.
• Stay current on industry standards, concrete applications, quality requirements, and value-added products.
• Uphold company safety, compliance, and housekeeping standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
• Proven success in direct sales, preferably within aggregates, ready-mix, construction materials, or related industries.
• Demonstrated ability to review and comprehend complex contracts, specifications, and construction documents, assess risk, and provide sound business recommendations.
• Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Ability to assess customer needs, develop tailored solutions, and manage sales cycles.
• Effective cross-functional collaboration skills; comfortable engaging with stakeholders from field personnel to executive leadership.
• Solid understanding of supplier markets, logistics, and manufacturing/production processes.
• Highly self-motivated, organized, and accountable; able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Professional, ethical, and customer-focused approach.
• Experience in aggregate & concrete quality testing including, but not limited to, ACI Certification for Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 or better.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, Operations, or related field preferred, with 5–7 years of progressive sales experience in the aggregates and ready-mix industry; equivalent experience considered.
