Job Description:

Job Summary:

The weighmaster plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the weigh station by accurately weighing incoming & outgoing trucks carrying various material. This position involves maintaining records, processing payments, coordinating with drivers & other personnel to ensure compliance with weight regulation & company policies. The weighmaster also assists in administrative tasks, dispatch support & other office tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately weigh trucks loaded with material, averaging 50-150 per day
  • Ensure all vehicles comply with state & company weight regulations
  • Communicate with drivers to facilitate smooth weigh-ins and resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records of all weigh-ins, generating daily reports
  • Process cash/credit transactions using payment processing software
  • Provide excellent customer service by interacting with drivers, contractors & personnel
  • Address inquiries, resolve issues & report discrepancies to management promptly
  • Assist dispatch with scheduling/routing trucks as needed
  • Assist with office tasks: filing, organizing, answering/transferring calls

Job Skills and Requirements:

  • Must be dependable, responsible, good work ethic & great attendance record
  • Must have strong attention to detail & organizational skills
  • Must be proficient with computers/software, including Microsoft Office, Excel & Payment processing systems
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle fast pace environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Drug Free
