Welder – Mechanic Diesel

Company: Miles Sand & Gravel Company
Location: Puyallup, WA
Position Type: Full Time, Monday - Friday
Hours: 3:00pm - 11:30pm (times may vary)
Application Closing Date: April 30, 2023 or until filled
Compensation: $33.20 - $43.20

Job Description:

  • Able to arc weld (stick and wire) and use an oxy/ace cutting torch.
  • Have the ability to fabricate with steel or materials provided.
  • Duties range from basic service and inspections to major repairs.
  • Assist with brake adjustments on fleet equipment.
  • Operate electric and pneumatic power tools.
  • Working in tight or confined spaces.

Job Skills and Requirements:

  • Be able to work well in a fast paced, high production position.
  • Experience with welding, air arc, oxy/ace torch.
  • Experience with plasma cutting, grinding and fitting.
  • Certified welder a plus.
  • Be flexible with starting time.
  • Be self-motivated and work independently.
  • Good communication skills a plus.
  • Be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Work one Saturday a month if needed.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • Ability to move commercial vehicles and equipment.
  • Clean, insurable driving record, CDL a plus.
  • Drug free.
